Once again I am pleased to report that Journal of Petrology remains widely acknowledged as one of the leading journals in the field of igneous, metamorphic and experimental petrology. In 2003 (the most recent year for which data are available) our ISI Impact Factor increased slightly from 2.903 to 2.948 (ranking 5th out of 52 titles in the Geochemistry and Geophysics category) compared to 3.283 (2 out of 47 titles) in 2001, which was our best year ever.
