Variable Impact of the Subducted Slab on Aleutian Island Arc Magma Sources: Evidence from Sr, Nd, Pb, and Hf Isotopes and Trace Element Abundances

B. R. Jicha, B. S. Singer, J. G. Brophy, J. H. Fournelle, C. M. Johnson, B. L. Beard, T. J. Lapen and N. J. Mahlen

Journal of Petrology (2004) 45, 1845–1875.

The authors incorrectly stated on page 1850 that Sr, Nd, and Pb isotope ratios were determined from all whole rock samples at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Sr, Nd, and Pb isotope ratios from 5 of the 32 samples, including: SH 5, SH 15, KG 1, KG 5, and KG 8 in Table 1 were obtained at the Isotope Geochemistry Laboratory at Royal Holloway University of London, using procedures similar to those of Thirlwall et al. (1997) as part a larger arc-wide study by B. Singer and M. Thirlwall. Sr and Pb isotope ratios for these were determined on powder samples leached for 1hr in 100°C HCl, and the standard data quoted by Thirlwall et al. (1997) apply also to the Aleutian analyses. Comparison of analytical procedures at Royal Holloway and Wisconsin, including measured standard values, indicates that these data are all internally consistent, thus there is no impact on our overall conclusions.
